Pineapple Jam!

I have been neglecting this blog for quite some time now, it was mostly due to the fact that I was back at Kedah last week and the dial-up connection back home was suckier than ever...lol...and the start of my 2nd semester didn't help at all as I was busy preparing for new subjects and getting to know new lecturers who will e teaching us this time round. Well, for this semester, I will only be doing 3 subjects which are Malaysian Media History & Law, Introduction to Information & Technology and also English for College Studies (ii)...so I guess I'll have a bit more free time to enjoy the perks of college life...hahaha...

Anyway, I'd been through some extremely wacky situations when I was in Kedah last week...there was a cat and mouse stuffs happening and a very liberal or shall I say, indifferent idiom came into play and presented itself through my cousin...I'll be posting about that in the next post though...as I'm writting this, I'm also trying to rush home before the rain starts pouring...ain't got no umbrella with me...and I just watched "30 Days of Night" yesterday, so I'll really want to get back before it's really dark...if you get what I mean. But for now I'll show you how I make pineapple jam for Stephanie as a very, very, very, very, very, very, very......belated birthday gift for her...hahaha...it's my first attempt and it turn out quite okay...so maybe you guys are willing to risk getting a tummy ache and try out this jam recipe...lol...

1. Firstly, you'll have to buy the pineapple because without a pineapple, there wouldn't be any pineapple jam...there will only be air jam or, if you prefer, oxygen jam...hahaha...so after that, cut the scaly outer skin of the pineapple unless you eat the skin as well (might give your jam some extra fiber...lol...)...you begin by chopping the top aand bottom off...

2. Then cut off the skin sideways to reveal the 'eyes' of the pineapple...

3. Make the pineapple a blind pineapple by removing it's annoyingly many 'eyes'...

4. Admire your artistic sculpture called the "Eyeless P-apple"...mine was a bit off though...maybe you guys can do a better job at cutting up the pineapple...lol...

5. Next, slice the pineapple into smaller pieces so that it will be easier to crush into a puree...

6. After that, put all the pineapple chunks into a blender, juicer or food processor...

7. This is how pineapple mush looks like...haha...

8. Pour out all the juiced pineapple into a bowl, you can also sieve the juice if you guys want a more refine jam...but that will take away some of the good fiber...

9. Boil the juice using low flame so as to turn it 'jammie'...hahaha...

10. Here comes the most important part of jam-making...stirring the jam non-stop...people who are lazy are advice to get someone else to do this for you because by the time you manage to pull yourself from the TV, you will get charcoal jam instead...hahaha...

11. As I say, keep on stirring as the jam boils...

12. While the jam thickens, add some cinnamon to bring out the sweetness of the jam and to enhance the aroma...don't drool please...lol...

13. Mix well and keep on stirring like there's no tomorrow...

14. When jam is going to be done, add a teaspoon of margerine or butter to glaze it so that it is shinny and nice to look at...

15. Let the cooked jam cool off and then bottle it up for storage or to gift it out to friends...

16. Finally, I present to you the jam!!! Hooray! Hahahaha...

Hahahaha...that's my recipe for the pineapple jam...I got great feedback from Stephanie's friend, Sulin...and hopefully it will also work for you guys! Gotta go...it's dark outside now...I'll blog again soon...I know you are proud of me if you are reading this Martha! Hahahahaha...
