A Day of Many Firsts

Yesterday (as the above tittle suggests) was a day of many firsts. New experiences and experiments in my life...hahahahaha...who was it who said that life is short and we should try everything before it's too late or too early for the crypt...
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
I tried on some mean spectacles yesterday...they were Dionne's, but kinda look good on me (don't you think so? Come on Miss Catherine... =P).
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
Was going for the nerdy look, with rimmed specs and buttoned-up collared tee...the retro print (which you can't really see) is kinda vintage or what some of my coursemates termed as "apek"...vintage la people, vintage...V-I-N-T-A-G-E...lol
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLll
Went on my 1st college roadtrip yesterday! And it was awesome even though there were only 3 of us...namely Dionne, Evonne and yours truly. We packed ourselves into the car and drove all the way to Seremban to have a taste of the oh-so ( I miss using this phrase...) famous and gastronomically enchanting Bake Crabs...
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
But before that, pump petrol first. Which was my 1st experience cause I can't really remember the last time I pumped petrol...Dad is the one who take care of it and I can't actually drive. Oh, and if you guys still don't know, I have 0% education on cars... =D
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
The petrol smells remind me of Steph...petrol addict! Hahahahaha...
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
I slept halfway through the journey...sorry Dionne... =P
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
We met up with Cel Sin in Seremban as she performed her duty as our guide toward the Bake Crabs. The crabs were nice...but a bit too expensive though...RM43 for a kilogram...aiks...*gasp*! It's not actually baked crabs, tasted more like marmite crab (according to the two sisters)...for me the sauce taste like Otak Udang...weird combination...but nice!
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
We ordered other dishes too, seaweed soup, veggie and a meat dish with rice for everybody...and I drank coconut water...ahhhh~~...refreshing... :)
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
On to another story, before we went to Seremban. There was some kind of conflict and confrontation going on in class. I thought I was not involved...but I guess I was wrong. Well, it can't be help when you are so popular right? Hahahahaha...this is also a first for me...turning negativity into positivity...some will say it's naivety...at least I was upfront from the start and still manage to preserve my integrity.
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLll
I feel sorry and sad for that person... :)
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLl
Anyway, to prevent ourselves being involved. Some friends and I took the chance to do some serious camwhoring...hahahaha...below are the edited pics...
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Me, Joey and Pooi Yee...
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Giggles...kinda cheesy...
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLl
I like the compositions. Pooi Yee's angle is so nice...lol...this is one of the time when I actually like my lips... =P
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL
Me with the specs again...looking smug...Haha..
LLLLLLLLLLLLLL
That's all for now...enjoy the weekend people!

Baking Spree!

The holiday is over and I'm back in campus and the blogsphere...just did the Moral Studies presentation on punctuality...was OK...not that great and not a total flop too...
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
My one week in Kedah was utterly boring...not being able to drive (I got no license...(T_T)...) and what with the rains...not that I hate the rains...I LOVE rainy days...just that when I'm bored, it's a tad bit depressing...sigh...IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Anyway, I managed to get myself working and started my very own baking spree during the holidays...lol...
iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
The first thing I made was a Chocolate Cake with Meringue Frosting. The cake was quite easy, just that I had to replace cake flour with multi-purpose flour which made the texture a bit dry...
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
The hard part is the frosting...it's my own invention actuality...lol...I chanced upon the possibility of making frosting out of unbake meringue...but I can't seem to get the same consistency this time round and the frosting tends to solidify really fast, making it hard to ice the cake.
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
But still, it's eadible...just that it was kinda too sweet...well, once a while right? Hehehehe...
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIii
My second baking endeavour was an Apple Crumble Gallet (correct spelling anyone?). It's just like any other pie just that this one didn't require a pie tin, so there's less hustle when getting the pie out of the baking tray. This was inspired by Martha Stewart's Rhubarb Pie...since we don't actually have rhubarb here...so..apple is the chosen filling...
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
The crumble didn't turn out to be as crunchy as I'd expected. I guess the butter and brown sugar must have melted by the time they were ready to be use as I had pre-made it to save time...lol...
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
After the pie, I continued the baking spree with a Coconut Cream Cake, it's a variation of the Chocolate cake actually, just swap the melted chocolate with dessicated coconut...
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
Oh, but please make sure you cut down the butter used in the recipe as dessicated coconut will produce oil when baked at high temperature. You don't wanna get an oily cake!...hahahahaha...
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
I thought of ending the baking spree after 3 days of non-stop baking action, but then Leh Bin requested that I bring some back for my coursemates. I didn't wanna make a complicated recipe as I was running out of ingredients and time as it's about time for me to come back to college too...so I decided to make Raisin Cake for them...
IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
KKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
One tips that I got from Bill from the cooking show Bill's Food is to soak raisins in orange juice overnight so that they will be plumb and juicy when used in cakes and bread...it turned out quite well I guess, my friends enjoyed it...lol...right guys?IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOoo
That's all for now from me and my baking spree during the holidays. Gotta get my book review assignment done as it is due tomorrow!JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ
I bet Martha Stewart is proud of me!! Hahahahahaha...

Of Hair, Pillow Talk, Movie Marathon and Cutie

I'm lazy. My backpack is still empty and there's only hours left before I board the 9am bus back to Kedah. Somehow I don't feel like being productive today...hmm...the thought of traveling and sitting my arse off in the bus all the way to my 6-hours-away hometown is not that encouraging...
The above was 2 days ago. Now I'm already back in Kedah, blogging from my Mother's room because the phone is in her room and I can't find those elusive extension cables. Yeah...I'm using dialup connection...it's a miracle that I had managed to get to my blogspot dashboard...hahahaha...

Well, nothing much happened in the past 2 days...been sleeping and eating like a pig. I will tell you guys more about it in the coming post. This entry is so overdue. It was about the sleepover at Mentari a day before I left for Kedah...but before that, here's some random, vain pictures...

I look so constipated in this. There were more shots but I jumped too high and all my face will be out of the frame. This is the only one where the whole me is in frame. Pooi Yee...do take photography lessons often...hahahaha...

Trying to copy the photography style of The Sartorialist...and I miss my hair...because right after that, Dionne, Evonne, Cel Sin and Pooi Yee (my entourage of girls...hahahaha) and I went to Sunway Pyramid for my haircut (long overdue haircut according to some of my friends...)...oh...it pained me to see my precious locks being cut...awh...all those memories...my identity gone...*cry ala ANTM makeover day....sob...sob...hahahahaha...just trying to be dramatic about it...
It turnout kinda OK...my friends told me that I looked thinner...these people are soooo good at lying!

Me and my new hair and supposedly "thinner" self...hahahaha...
Now, about the sleepover. For the first time, I was finally invited over for the Movie Marathon and Pillow Talk session by the Mentarian (Elaine, Aina, Leh Bin and Dina). Ain and Kel Zoe were also there...I was the only guy...talk about being the only thorn among the roses...hahaha...
Here's pictures of everyone in their PJs...without make-up, hair spray, contact lenses and all...the REAL us:

Me...wearing Elaine's strawberry slippers...sooo comfortable...was thinking of stealing it...wakakaka...

Elaine...looking somewhat like a coala bear (cute tau...don't be angry!! Lol..). Eating her sushi...she got a Wasabi attack after dipping sushi into Kel Zoe's spicy sauce!

Kel Zoe with her spectacles! We said she resembled an owl...hahahaha...her specs are kinda retro, don't you think?

Leh Bin...desperately trying to tidy up her hair before I took her pictures...futile attempt I must say...muahahahaha...should I consider a career as a paparazzi?

Ain, showing off her long lashes (can't really see from the pic...but it was damn long!). She was also demonstrating her killer-blinking eyes that she will soon use to seduce Steven Gerrard!

Dina and her scrunched up face, wet hair, towel and sleeping bag...what more can I say?

Finally the birthday girl (yep it was her birthday that day). Aina giving us all the peace sign...she reminds me of Pn. Farizah from high school...don't you thing so Pauline? HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY GIRL!!
The cup cakes they bought for me...thanks guys! They were half-eaten by then...LOL...

Elaine's Baskin Robbins ice cream...apparently a must for these kinda occasion...it melted and turned mushy...
We watched 2 movies for our movie-marathon that day, first up was "Lucky Number Slevin"...was quite a nice movie...love the twist at the end and how all the storyline finally came together...and the girl got their eye candy via a topless Josh Hartnett...next we watched "Brokeback Mountain" as requested by Dina...I was looking forward to it to as Mr. Winston had been talking about the cultural significance of this movie in our Media Appreciation class...it was quite draggish...but you really feel for the 2 cowboys...and the idea of a Chinese director (Ang Lee) helming a Western Cowboy movie that deals with homosexuality was amazing...
Aina working the projector and laptop...yep...we had a projector!

Thank God for the projector...can you imagine all of us hunched around a small laptop screen?
One more thing before I end this post. My roommate Sam brought back a stray kitten the other day. I fed it my tuna...pitiful creature...the cat was attracted to my other housemate Beng...and was sleeping comfortably on "that" area...lol...(see the pic to understand):

This pic is rather obscene...I'll let your imagination take charge...wakakaka...
Sam wanted to keep the kitten...which was quite impossible as our warden is against pets...and I don't think any of us will have the time to take care of another being. We can't take good care of ourselves! Sam named the kitten Cutie...(-_-")...
He took it down the next morning and that's the last I'd see of that cat...good luck out there Cutie!
"My name is Cutie and that's because I'm cute!"...wakakakakaka....

Burst of Colors on a Sombre Afternoon

Drew and half-painted this since afternoon...can you guess what it is? Look closer...

I know, it's not yet finish. Maybe I'll continue some other day. Somehow the fluidity isn't there, but I like the bright colors though. Make me feel happy when rain clouds are actually gathering outside the window right now. It's funny how sometimes you really get what you wished for. Moments ago I was talking to a friend about hoping it rains today...my wish is about to come true...

NO. This is not an emo(tional) post. Just feel the need to be more reserved today. Ah...it's one of those unexplainable days. If you are looking for an explanation.

It has been ages since I last drew. Never really got the time to stop, get inspired and draw. Happened to be flipping through my sketch book...here's some stuff I did when I first started college:

This piece basically started out with a single love shape in the middle of a white paper...as you can see...a lot of other things had been added in from time to time. My housemate said it's a form of digital art...I don't know...

This one was drawn quite some time ago. Random idea...can't remember what actually inspired me to paint this. In case you are wondering, it's not an interpretation of Mary Poppins either....haha...

Came back quite early today after our Social Psychology test. Not too bad. Did the laundry, washed those dishes I left this morning (was rushing to college after breakfast) and sew back the button that had fallen of my shirt. It was tiring...but it's nice to feel productive...is this what Mum feels? Mothers' Day is coming...I'm going home soon, suddenly I miss her...

I'm cutting my hair tomorrow after my Moral Studies test...the final paper.

I have to go now. It's raining. It's calling to me.

Mid Term Exam...sigh...

The long awaited mid-term exam for this semester is finally here and we started off by having English for College Studies and Media Appreciation tests today. And let me tell you that our IELTS based English paper was damn tough! One short essay with two extremely hard comprehension passages...sigh...worse still, all these had to be done in one hour! At first, I thought I was the only one who seemed to be stressed out by this particular paper because the others look so calm and compose...and there I was, darting back and forth between the essay and the comprehension passages. I can't seem to focus on a certain section of the paper when I'm having a (minor) panic attack...
llllllllllllllllll
But then, after the test, I found out that many of us (me and my course mates) actually experienced the same thing when doing the IELTS paper! Hahahahaha...thank God...I was starting to think that there's something wrong with me! Well, it was hard...make me feel like screaming at the top of my lungs!! Hahahaha...this is what I wanted to do when I reached home after lunch today, please note that the blue book is the IELTS textbook that we use in class:

However, I never got to doing it...there's still half a semester to go and I paid RM30++ for that blue book...hahaha...
llllllllllllllll
Will be having Principle of Economics paper tomorrow...and yet I still have not get my lazy self to study or at least browse through the notes...maybe later...

An update to all of you, I will be getting my pay from Leo Burnett (the advertising agency that I used to intern in) tomorrow and my ex-supervisor Clarissa will be joining me for lunch in college! Haven't see her for more than a month now...miss working...even though it was super stressful! I wonder how the others are doing? Hmm...I need to pay Leo Burnett a visit someday...

Well, that's all for now. Only a brief update. Oh one more thing, I'll be going back to Kedah this coming Saturday (and I'll miss out on the BRATs self-defence workshop...sigh). I miss Cici so much...hahaha...and the food back home! I'm hungry now...I better get myself dinner...will post again soon!
lllllllllllllllllllllll

For now, I need to study...study...study...STUDY...
